VALE John Clifford Pitts

Boronia Cricket Club is saddened to hear of the passing of John Pitts.

Sadly, on 28th August, John Pitts passed away after a short battle with brain cancer. He was farewelled yesterday by close family.

John never played a game for Boronia Cricket Club; however, he was heavily involved with the junior administration.

When his son, Stephen, started his junior cricket career at Boronia, John had no hesitation in jumping into the administration side despite having never played cricket before. Never one to miss a game, John was often relied upon to get others there to ensure the team had a full side.

This was the beginning of his long service to the committee, eventually, seeing John takeover as Junior Coordinator of the cricket club. He didn’t stop there, as John would also go on to join the Boronia Junior Football Club committee, becoming President in 1984-85.

John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Denise and sons Jason and Stephen.

The Boronia Cricket Club committee, Life Members, players and supporters extend their heartfelt wishes and condolences to John’s family and friends.

Please like this post as a mark of respect.
